Topic: Call to Action - Call to Prayer - Call to General Conference 2012
For the last three years the United Methodist Church has invested significant time, energy and money into the "Call to Action." Now, the Interim Operations Team is working diligently to prepare the denomination for significant missional change and recommend to the 2012 General Conference new structures and priorities for the 21st century. This workshop is a call to prayer and participation. Together we will understand what is taking place; when the critical times for prayer and discernment are scheduled; and how we can pray and participate in the transformation of The United Methodist Church. John Wesley taught the early Methodist people, "God does nothing apart from prayer." If you want to see an outpouring of God's grace and power within the UMC, come join us in prayer!
Rev. Tom Albin serves on the Advisory Council of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries and is currently Dean of Upper Room Ministries and Ecumenical Relations in Nashville, TN. Tom is the chair of the 2012 General Conference Prayer Support Team. The eldest of four children raised on the family farm, Tom's elementary education was in a one-room schoolhouse on the Kansas prairie. He attended Ottawa University, Oral Roberts University, Fuller Theological Seminary and the University of Cambridge in England. Tom is grateful for circuit ministers with three congregations who regularly invited people to give their lives to Christ. It was one ordinary Sunday morning when Tom was 11 years old that he responded to the invitation to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Since then, Tom has grown in his understanding and experience of God, serving churches as small as 50 and as large as 5,000 in his home conference of Oklahoma. In 1987 he joined the faculty of Boston University School of Theology and taught courses in American Church History, Wesley Studies, Evangelism and Church Growth. The following year he developed a program in Christian Spiritual Formation at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, where he taught until he joined the staff of The Upper Room Ministries in 1999.

There were Methodist healers, Methodists experiencing dreams and visions, Methodists encountering angels, even a Methodist who raised the dead! And there are Methodists today around the world continuing to move in the supernatural. Come and be enlightened on this part of our heritage.

Topic: Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired: Why Am I Not Healed?
We will look at some of the roadblocks to our healing. What is getting in the way of my receiving healing? Am I being punished? Is God mad at me? Unforgiveness? Bitterness? Do I not have enough faith? Is it a generational curse? Word curses? Does God love me? You may be ministering to people who themselves have not experienced healing even though they may have been prayed for. . . and to people who are dealing with illness of friends and family and just cannot offer any wisdom to be able to minister to them. We pray you will come out of this session with some eternal perspective, peace, clarity, and discernment about what is going on in their own lives with unhealed sickness.

Topic: Lord, the One You Love is Sick: How to Pray for Others to Be Healed
This will be a "nuts and bolts" practical teaching on how, as an individual, we can pray for the sick. What should we pray? Do we anoint? Is there more behind the issue than just physical sickness? Is that always the case? What if the Lord shows you there is a spiritual issue causing the physical illness? What if they don't get well? Our prayer is you will leave this session unafraid to pray for people who are sick and that you will feel equipped with knowledge, faith and boldness in how to do so.

Topic: No More Bullies: Conquering Intimidation
Jesus was accused of many things. He ate with sinners, He healed on the Sabbath, and He confronted and confounded the religiously self-righteous every step of the way. But there was one thing Jesus never did: Jesus never controlled people or situations. Come find out why!

Topic: How to Keep Your Faith When Life Hurts
Sometimes life hurts: accidents happen; relationships crumble; marriages end; friends betray us; economies crash. Such experiences can crush or catalyze our faith. We will be learning from the life of David and other persons of faith who used adversity as a source of personal and spiritual growth, reminding us that God can turn everything together for our good.
Rev. Dr. Jeff Greenway was raised in a Christian home, committing his life to Christ during his early teens. It was during these formative years that God began to place a call upon his life to enter full-time Christian service. Jeff's approach to ministry is one of team-building. He believes in the New Testament concept of the church being the Body of Christ, and that every member of the Body has a distinctive role and function in ministry. Jeff is also passionate about Biblical preaching and discipleship. He will take a particular passage of scripture and, not only help the listener understand what it means, but also how to apply its truth into their personal lives.

Topic: Reclaiming Sabbath: Living in Divine Rest
Sabbath is more than just a day off; it is a day or a period of time to wallow in the Presence of a loving Father who gave it for our benefit. It is commanded because He knows we need it. So why do we succumb to busy-ness? "God gives rest to His loved ones." (Ps. 127:2 NLT)

Topic: Gripped by Grace: Hope for When the Bottom Falls Out
The church should be a safe place. Instead, relationships can be broken, trust can be betrayed, and unforgiveness seems the rule. The damage often appears to be irreparable. Can we hang on to faith, find hope, and be willing to live in love, even without reconciliation or unity?

Topic: Prophetic Art: Art as Evangelism
If, as the adage says, "a picture is worth a thousand words," then shouldn't a picture inspired by God and anointed by the Holy Spirit reach a thousand souls, and even more? That's what Prophetic Art is all about - spreading God's love, hope, healing, encouragement - visually - "speaking" and capturing the attention of some one who might otherwise miss out. It is, after all, hard to ignore a piece of art, especially one created for a certain person and given to them as a gift - a precious reminder that there is a God who loves them unconditionally; a gift that leaves a lasting impression that somebody really does care. In this session you will be given the opportunity not only to learn about prophetic art but also actually to experience the joy of co-creating a piece of prophetic art with the Holy Spirit - the Master Artist - a blessing for you that also depicts a life changing message for someone else.
Mary Ellen Martin is an artist with an ardent desire to spread the love of God using the gifts He's given her. Humbled, grateful and profoundly blessed by a recent call on her life into prophetic and worship art, Mary Ellen finds tremendous joy and great satisfaction in co-creating with the Holy Spirit. Never imagining she would be given the precious opportunity of her life's work being all about the Lord and art, Mary Ellen hungers for more and more of Him, more of His art, and dedicates her life to being used by Him in whatever way He leads, realizing there is no greater blessing than being used by God to bless others.

Topic: Heaven's Side of Lazarus' Tomb: Helping a Loved One Finish Victoriously
Jesus heals. He comanded "Lazarus come out!" of the tomb. His life was miraculously extended and everyone praised God. Lazarus died again. Jesus heals today.
