Pre-Conference 2011

Prayer is a priority at the Aldersgate Conference.  Each year we begin the Conference with 24 hours of prayer and worship.  This intentional time of corporate prayer and worship sets the tone for everything we do at Aldersgate 2011.  Please consider adding Pre-Conference Prayer and Worship to your plans for Dayton, OH.
What is Pre-Conference?
precon2010Pre-Conference is the 24 hour period preceding the Aldersgate 2011 Conference. Devoted to prayer and worship, Pre-Conference is built upon a model of the harp and bowl from Revelation 5:8 and includes a unique blend of worship, Scripture reading, exhortation and prayer interaction.  Often described as a highlight of the Aldersgate Conference, Pre-Conference Prayer and Worship is also a wonderful way to prepare your heart for all that God is going to do throughout the event.  This is not a time of teaching about prayer; this is a time for God’s people to pray together.  We will use a variety of scriptures to form the themes of our corporate prayer times.  In addition, the concert of prayer will be equally balanced with sustained times of worship.  Worship that is Spirit-led is always transformational.  Come expecting to be changed and transformed.
What’s new for 2011?
This year’s theme is “Fervent in Spirit, Faithful in Prayer” from Romans 12:11-12 (NIV).  Our first session on Wednesday evening will include an exhortation by Bishop James Swanson, resident Bishop of the Holston Conference and a dynamic preacher.  Bishop Swanson is fervent in Spirit and faithful in prayer for the church.  I’m sure God will use him to stir up the Spirit of God in each of us and encourage us in prayer.  Together we will cry out for the church in faithful prayer following his message with a variety of prayer stations.

Session 2 on Thursday morning continues the theme and includes prayer stations, prayer in groups, testimonies from those who have been challenged to be fervent in Spirit and faithful in prayer and dynamic seasons of worship.  Session 3 on Thursday afternoon follows the concert of prayer format and includes some intentional times of listening.  A highlight of Pre-Conference has been the numerous prophetic gifts that the Lord has manifested as we have waited on Him in these times of listening.  Session 3 also includes directed prayer for our pastors and spiritual leaders.

Don’t miss this opportunity to pray and worship with your brothers and sisters in Christ!
